The lesser your sensitivity the more you need ‘saying’ (vocalizing in Ms Malathi’s words). Vikas may know that Meghana loves him. But his intention seems to hurt her and not to demand vocalizing her love. Intention to hurt takes recourse to groundless allegations also. Such allegations take form from a region of our mind where fantasies are born. They betray the essential emotional insecurity and doubts of self-worth of that person. Thanks for ‘showing’ a piece of inner drama.

All these six works are preserved in the national library in paris in manuscript form.

Good story. I think the author seems to highlight our culture where emotions like love are not vocalized. Also that vocalizing is an imported practice is also implied here. 🙂
One more point I forgot to mention in my previous comment (this is in the context of what is called the No Electronic Theft (NET) Act): prior to NET Act, even wilful, wide, distribution of unauthorized copyrighted material, as long as no financial gain is expected, was not considered an infringement (in rough terms). This Act closed that loophole, but opened a new one – it removed financial gain as a necessary condition; but the total value of the “stolen” material should exceed $1000 in a 180 day period to attract its applicability. This is an escape valve for many of the situations that the other posters have been worried about.
My point is: don’t let the phantom fear of Copyright stop you at the very first step of a sequence of steps that may ultimately lead to distribution over the web. There are many intermediate stages that are quite safe.
In principle, one can reprint a book without permission, as long as the total “value” of all the copies is no more than $1000, and the reprinter gets no financial gain out of it. For instance, you reprint a book valued at Rs. 50 and print 1000 copies (assuming a $1 = Rs 50 conversion, for simplicity) and give them all away for free, you should be alright under the above Act !
నేను ముసునూరివారి లఘుశబ్దార్థదీపికతో ప్రస్తుతం పనికానిస్తున్నాను. ఇది నాకు హైదరాబాద్లో 1982లో 20 రూపాయలకే దొరికింది. ఆ తరవాత 1997లో తెలుగు యూనివర్సిటీతో సంబంధం ఏర్పడినప్పుడు సూర్యారాయాంధ్ర నిఘంటువు ఆరు సంపుటాలూ కొనుక్కున్నాను. అక్కడి మిత్రులు మంచి డిస్కౌంట్ కూడా ఇప్పించారు. సూర్యారాయాంధ్ర నిఘంటువు చూస్తున్నప్పుడు మనం కొన్ని పదాలకి మామూలుగా అనుకునే అర్థాలు తప్పనీ, అసలు అర్థం వేరే ఉందనీ తెలిసేది. ఇవికాక చిన్నవి thesaurus వంటివి కూడా దుకాణాల్లో దొరుకుతున్నాయి. కొంతవరకూ వీటితో పని జరిగిపోతుంది. నిఘంటువులు దగ్గరుండడం తెలుగు రాయడం, చదవడం చేసేవారికి చాలా ఉపయోగకరమే. ఆన్లైన్ సదుపాయం ఎప్పుడో ఒకప్పుడు ఏర్పడుతుందనే అనుకుంటున్నాను. సామాన్యంగా రచయిత మరణించిన 50 ఏళ్ళ తరవాత కాపీరైట్ ఉండదు. అంతవరకూ రచయిత వారసుల హక్కులను గౌరవించడంలో తప్పులేదనుకుంటాను.
నేను కాలనిర్ణయ్లో ప్రచురించే వ్యాసాలకు రచయితలకూ, వారి వారసులకూ అడ్రస్ కనుక్కుని తప్పక పారితోషికం అందించే ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తూ ఉంటాను. ఆసక్తికరమైన విషయం ఏమిటంటే ఒకసారి నేను పి.వి.నరసింహారావుగారి వ్యాసానికి అలా చెయ్యబోతే ఆయన జవాబు రాసి, సున్నితంగా అవసరం లేదని అన్నారు.
