మంచి కథ. నిజంగా కన్నీరు ఇంకిపోయింది అందరిలో! అలాంటి సమయంలో ఈ కథ ఓ మేలుకొలుపు. నిజంగా ప్రతీ మనిషి ఆ emotions ఉండి ఉంటే.. అర్ధరాత్రి నిద్రలో ఆ ఏడుపు వస్తుంది. కానీ అన్నింటికీ అతీతంగా బతుకుతున్నాం. అందుకే ఈ కథ బాగా నచ్చింది.
మీ ప్రోత్సాహానికి కృతజ్ఞతలు. లింకన్-జామెట్రీ మీద చిన్న వ్యాసం రాయడం ఇప్పట్లో కుదరదు కాని ఈ పెద్ద వ్యాఖ్య ఉపయోగపడుతుందని ఆశిస్తాను.
ముందుగా, లింకన్ చదివింది యూక్లిడియన్ జామెట్రీ, కోఆర్డినేట్ (అనలిటిక్) జామెట్రీ కాదు. మొదటిది హైస్కూలులో, రెండోది కాలేజీలో చదువుతామని గుర్తు. సరళ, వక్ర, వృత్త రేఖలని బీజగణిత సమీకరణలద్వారా సూచించి సాధించేది అనలిటిక్ జామెట్రీ. దానిని ఫ్రెంచి తత్వవేత్త Descartes (1596-1650) కనిపెట్టాడు. అతని ప్రఖ్యాత ప్రవచనం: “I think, therefore I am.” పదిహేడో శతాబ్దపు శాస్త్రీయ విప్లవానికి Descartes, Francis Bacon ల తాత్విక రచనలు దోహదం చేశాయి.
యూనివర్సిటీ ఆఫ్ విస్కాన్సిన్-మాడిసన్ కి చెందిన గణిత ప్రొఫెసర్ జోర్డాన్ ఎల్లెన్బెర్గ్ రాసిన జనరంజకమైన “Shape” [1] లోని మొదటి అధ్యాయం, “I Vote for Euclid,” ఇలా మొదలవుతుంది:
In 1864, the Reverend J. P. Gulliver, of Norwich, Connecticut, recalled a conversation with Abraham Lincoln about how the president had acquired his famously persuasive rhetorical skill. The source, Lincoln said, was geometry. In the course of my law-reading I constantly came upon the word demonstrate. I thought, at first, that I understood its meaning, but soon became satisfied that I did not. . . . I consulted Webster’s Dictionary. That told of “certain proof,” “proof beyond the possibility of doubt;” but I could form no idea what sort of proof that was. I thought a great many things were proved beyond a possibility of doubt, without recourse to any such extraordinary process of reasoning as I understood “demonstration” to be. మానవ సంబంధాలపై ఒక మంచి విశ్లేషణాత్మక కథ. మస్తానమ్మ పాత్ర చాలా బలమైనది. స్ఫూర్తిని పొందడానికి సమాజంలో అట్టడుగు వర్గాల వారి రుజువర్తన కూడా దోహదకారి అవుతుందన్న విషయాన్ని రచయిత ఎంతో హృద్యంగా ఆవిష్కరించారు. అభినందనలు.
ఎప్పటిలాగే బాగుంది . తెలుగులో సైన్సు రాయలేమని ఎవరన్నారు? ముందుకొచ్చి మరొకసారి ఆనండి. Insulator కి బంధకి అన్న పేరు చాలనుకుంటాను. విద్యుత్ బంధకి electrical insulator అవుతుంది. కావలిస్తే heat insuator ని అప్పుడు తాప బంధకి అనొచ్చు.
సుదీర్ఘ కవిత్వ ప్రస్థానంలో అఫ్సర్ తనకంటూ ఏర్పాటు చేసికొన్న భాషను, బలంగా తయారు చేసుకొన్న నిర్లయాత్మక శైలిని, వ్యక్తీకరణలో లోతుల్ని సాధించటానికి నిర్మించుకొన్న సంభాషణల సుగంధాన్ని, తన సాహిత్యకృషిలో భాగంగా ప్రయోగాల బాటలో ప్రయాణించిన అతని మార్గాన్ని చక్కగా విశ్లేషించిన రామిరెడ్డి గారికి, మంచి కవిత్వం రాసిన అఫ్సర్ గారికి అభినందనలు.
