ఏల కల్గెనో — ఏల కల్గెనీ మధ్య మరో విధమయిన తేడా ఉందను కుంటున్నాను. మొదటి పాఠాంతరం indicates a sense of wonder. I wonder how he got it. It is question without being interrogative. The second variation is a question — How did he get this? It is interrogative.
The word “ఆంధ్ర కవి” — I did not think about it specifically so far. The erudite Echuri made me question it. Now that I questioned, I am not happy with the answer 🙂 that the essay provides. It looks too far fetched to me.
Re: the kerfuffle about quoting the preceding work, here is my opinion. Typically, in any research, prior work is cited so that the work is placed in the context. However, I do not read it as a research essay. I read it as a musing. I see this essay not as a literary criticism, not as a book report, but as a personal musing about an interesting poem. It is not about chaaTu tradition in Telugu, but about different context. Therefore, I think that reference to prior work can illuminate, but not necessary.
The other explanation could be this: Is the book “Poem at right time” addressing a different audience? If so, that could be the problem of that book making its way into other realms of discourse.
