Many native speakers of Telugu are hardly aware that words such as chirunāmā (చిరునామా), chukkāni (చుక్కాని), darjā (దర్జా), maidānam (మైదానం), rahadāri (రహదారి), rangu (రంగు) and salahā (సలహా) like more than a 1000 others, are of Turkish, Arabic and Persian origin; and that Telugu is made up of 65% Sanskrit words.
